“Orange Flag” and “Blue Flag” Awards from Council of Higher Education to NEVU

Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University (NEVU) was rewarded with the "Orange Flag" and "Blue Flag" awards by the Council of Higher Education for its successful work and projects carried out regarding the "Barrier-Free University".

The “2020 Barrier-Free University” awards, which was launched in 2018 and organized for the third time this year by the Council of Higher Education in order to raise awareness about the access of disabled people in higher education institutions to places, educational opportunities and socio-cultural activities and to spread good practices, found its owners.

Within the scope of the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) measures, the ceremony of “2020 Barrier-Free University Awards” was held via video conference with the participation of Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk, Minister of Family Labor and Social Services; Prof. Dr. Yekta Saraç, President of Council of Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Zeliha Koçak Tufan, Coordinator of Council of Higher Education Disabled Students Study Group and member of Council of Higher Education Executive Board, Council of Higher Education Executive Committee members, officials from the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Services, the rectors of the universities that were awarded, and representatives of students with disabilities in the universities.

The regulations performed by Faculty of Education, Faculty of Arts and Sciences and Faculty of Fine Arts of NEVU with regard to “Access in Space” were rewarded with “Orange Flag”, and the regulations performed by Damat İbrahim Paşa Campus of NEVU with regard to “Access to Socio-Cultural Activities” were rewarded with “Blue Flag”.
